Lot 1049 FULLY TRANSFERABLE STERLING MKI SUBMACHINE GUN.
Cal 9mm Para. S#BT160. Bbl 8.5" with fixed post front sight with protected ears. Dual Aperture flip peep rear sight with protected ears. The Sterling SMG was originally developed by G.W. Patchett in the 1940s and originally named simply "The Patchett". Several variations were tested & offered, including semiautomatic-only carbines, & numerous versions of the SMGs that were eventually adopted by New Zealand, Canada, India & the United Kingdom. This example was built by John Andrewski on a Taylor Tube with Sterling small part components. Top of Mag well is marked "Sterling/SMG/9mm/MK(L2A3) / No.XR68157". Tube marked next to rear sight ear " Taylor MFG- Decatur GA". Three position right handed selector. MAGS: 1. CONDITION: Overall very fine. Textured black hard coat finish. Appears unfired after remanufactured. Good bore with sharp rifling. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH.
